Hello! This is just a quick post recommending you to watch this Youtube video! It’s really amazing and I absolutely adore it! You’re all beautiful in your own ways, remember that! Be yourself.
Hello! BIG news!
I just chopped off about 12 inches of hair today! I’ve slowly been growing tired of my long locks, so I decided to donate my hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths!
After heavily researching different programs to use, I found Pantene was the most reliable. Pantene gives the real-hair wigs to women with cancer for free, no matter what their income is, unlike Locks of Love.
Pantene requires a minimum length of 8 inches, which is 2 inches shorter than most programs. I thought this was great for me, because the shortest layers that I cut off were 8 inches and the longest was around 12 inches.
I’m feeling amazing right now! My hair is soo much bouncier and fun! I still can’t get over that fact that my hair is short. It hasn’t been this short since I was really young! My new cut is layered from my chin to my shoulders. Short-medium hair has a stereotype for not being versatile, because of well, it’s lack of length obviously! I’ve been looking EVERYWHERE for some tutorials on how to style short hair..there aren’t very many! So I’ll be posting some tutorials on easy styles for short hair soon!
I surprisingly found curling my hair VERY difficult today! Is it just me? Well, it was mainly the back of my head which has some pretty short layers. It’s tricky! I still thought that it looked really cute curled and straight. I’m planning on braiding my hair before I go to sleep (not sure how yet) and seeing how the waves will look in the morning! I’ll post pics tomorrow!
On a side note, to be honest, all I’ve thought today was “I’m a short haired girl now”. I’ve ALWAYS considered myself as a long haired girl who googled ‘long hair tips’ and ‘how to style long hair’!
Hello! Have you ever had honey on popcorn? If not, you MUST try it! It’s absolutely heavenly! I’ve only shared this secret with a couple friends…And they loved it! So I’m sure you’ll love it too! But beware, this is EXTREMELY sticky! So don’t eat this popcorn and go touch your mothers expensive furniture. Not. Good.
To be honest, I eat this with a spoon. Yep, I’m serious. You’re probably thinking “Who the heck eats popcorn with a spoon?…Me…Don’t want any sticky hands! Anyways, without further ado, honey popcorn!
-Popcorn! (Air-popped, microwave popped, stove popped, whatever..although I recommend buttery microwave popped)
-Some honey (I used about 2 teaspoons per bag of popcorn)
1) Pop that corn!
2) Melt that honey in a bowl for 15-25 seconds…start with 15 and microwave until its melted.
3) Pour about a third of the popcorn into a bowl. Drizzle some honey on top and mix it up. Repeat until all of the honey and popcorn is gone! Now go eat it and enjoy!
Hello! I’ve always wanted to buy some tinted moisturizer..but I’m just a little too cheap to buy a tube of stuff thats pretty much the same as moisturizer+concealer! I can’t believe that I’ve never thought of this before because it’s just so simple! This is a great way of using up concealer that’s maybe a bit too dark or if you don’t particularly like it.
You can also easily swap the moisturizer for sunscreen!
1) If you’re using a container, pour some moisturizer
into the container. If you’re making the tinted moisturizer as you need it (like me), just pour a little bit into your hand.
2) Now put a little bit of concealer onto your hand/container. You can adjust the amount of concealer depending on how light or dark you want it.
3) Mix it up! If you’re using a container, use a stir stick or something similar. Don’t want any nasty germs hanging around in there!
Now, you’re done, and you have fabulous customizable tinted moisturizer!
Hello! Dreamcatchers are extremely easy and cute! They are known to “catch” bad dreams which will disappear when the sun rises, and good dreams will fall through the feathers.
You can buy these kits at Dollarama for $1.25, which is insanely cheap! I went into Michaels as well on the same day and saw more dreamcatcher kits…for $14!!! And the Dollarama kits had nicer feathers and beads! Incredible!
Check out this tutorial on This Fashion Is Mine to learn how to make these dreamcatchers!
I may or may not have a HUGE obsession with dollar stores, in particular, Dollarama. It’s crazy how much stuff they have for so little money! Although most things are over one buck, there’s still some pretty awesome stuff!
This quiche recipe is super quick and easy! I wasn’t sure what to expect while it was in the oven…but I’m quite proud to say that it turned out really well! Quiche’s are a pretty forgiving dish, you can pretty much throw anything in, besides the kitchen sink of course, and it’ll still taste good!
-Four 7-inch tortillas (I used whole wheat but you can use white)
-About 1 1/2 cup of broccoli florets
-some extra-virgin olive oil
-1 teaspoon of margarine or butter
-1/2 an onion
-1 cup of grated carrot
-1 cup of cheddar cheese
-1/2 cup of plain Greek yogurt
-1/4 to 1/2 cup of cottage cheese
-1 teaspoon of dill
-Salt and Pepper
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.
In a 9-inch pie plate, butter each tortilla before overlapping them to make the crust.
Chop up the onion finely (~1/4 inch). Mince garlic until fine. Place garlic and onion in a bowl. Now grate the carrot until you have about a cup. Cut the broccoli into small florets. Grate about a cup of cheese.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese, dill, salt and pepper.
Now, steam your broccoli in the microwave for 45 seconds-1 minute. In a skillet, add the olive oil and butter over medium-high heat.
Add your onions and stir them around until golden. Stir in your carrots for about a minute. Turn off the heat. Add the broccoli.
Spread evenly in the tortilla crust and sprinkle half of the cheese on top. Now add the egg mixture evenly, and add the rest of the cheese on top as well.
Bake in the oven until egg poofs up and cheese has browned. About 30 minutes. Test to make sure the egg is cooked by using a knife to test the middle. Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
Hello! These nails are ridiculously easy and adorable! It’s funny, for a girl who doesn’t like pink, I paint my nails pink A LOT! Oh well…enjoy!
-2 different colours of nail polish
Before taking off the henna….
Have you heard of The Host? It’s pretty new out as a movie although it was originally a book. I read the book by Stephenie Meyer a couple weeks back, which I liked so naturally I wanted to see the movie. After watching the trailers, I thought that it didn’t looked as good as it could’ve been. And I was right. It wasn’t awesome..but it wasn’t bad.
What I liked:
-Max Irons as Jared
-The place where the souls flew to other planets
-Mel’s voice in Wanda’s head (I found it super annoying, but I could relate to Wanda!)
What I disliked:
-No Walter 😦
-The Monster scene (when Wanda/Mel walk in on Doc “extracting” souls) BAD ACTING…I had to laugh out loud…really!
-How many parts from the book that they took out!
-Ian. Was it just me? I didn’t picture Ian as that at all!
